4.3 Spreading the Violet

Luke is not an idiot, he might be a tad bit insane, but other then that you can even call him a genius. And he is highly sensitive, he believes that's why he knows what influence colors can have on people. And his heightened sense tells him that there's more to this then meets the eye. Lydwin and the horse seem to be communicating with each other, though he does not know what Lydwin is telling the horse.

That it's Lydwin pulling the strings here is no mystery to him, and apparently the horse is a sucker for what she wants, just like Luke is. Lydwin seems quite content when the horse tries to make contact with Luke. After some sniffing Luke decides to see how far this will go.

He starts to head home under the watchful eye of both the horse and Lydwin, hoping he had anticipated the situation correctly.

The horse followed him home, and with that, Luke appeared to have a new goal in life. "I certainly do not hope you have the same attitude Lydwin has and that it is going to be easier to get you a name then it was hers," he tells the horse while heading inside to get the books he used to find Lydwin's name.
When the horse starts to whinny he turns around to give it a proper look, "What? Are you telling me you're more easy going? Well, come on, what's your name then?" When the horse gives him a piercing look a shiver goes down Luke's spine. "Midnight"
Luke waves his hand around as though he's chasing away a fly buzzing around his head, "what do you think of Midnight? It kind of suits you, with the white sparks on your body you look like you have the sky filled with stars on your body..." The horse whinnies again, Luke takes this as a sign of approval and strokes the horse on it's nose, "we are going to conquer the world you and I, yes we are!" Then Luke heads of to get the necessary equipment for Midnight.

The few days it took to get Midnight settled in went by with a breeze. Luke felt less depressed now that he had a purpose in life again, soon enough he was so bold to try and ride Midnight through town. But Luke did not grow up around animals, and though Lydwin and Midnight seemed to like him, he did not feel so secure when sitting on the back of this massive animal. Midnight was kind enough though, and walked in a calm and assuring pace.

But even though Midnight stood perfectly still when Luke tried to get off, Luke still managed to get his foot stuck in the stirrup which made him fall off. This was not how he pictured this to be. When you look at all those people riding a horse, it seems so easy, so romantic, never had he pictured himself sitting on his quite painful ass looking up at a horse wondering how the heck he got down there.

And it is of course at that moment that he looks up at Summer and another women, both their eyes twinkling by amusement. Feeling embarrassed he scrambled up and tried to brush down the dirt from his clothes with his hands.

When that failed he threw a look of disgust at his best friend since first grade and looked at the other woman, "excuse me for just one minute, I'll be right back..." And with that he went inside to change his clothes.

When he got back both women were standing in the living room and he could feel the tension, that's when he knew this was no ordinary visit, even though the fact that Sommer brought someone along was a dead give away to begin with. Over all those years Sommer had never tried to introduce him to other people, she knew he wasn't keen on meeting new people and even though she was married now and had a reasonable group of friends now, she never tried to impose her way of life on to him.
When he looked at Sommer she just shrugged at him, so he turned to the strange women standing is his living room, "would you excuse Sommer and me for just one minute?" He grabbed Sommer by the hand and puller her with him to the yard.

Once outside he doesn't even get the chance to ask what that women is doing here, Sommer throws him off guard within the second they stand still, "she loves pink! which is kind of like violet isn't it?"
Luke looks at his best friend and seriously doubts which one of them is supposed to be the sane one here, "what is that women doing in my living room Sommer?"

"I'm sorry Luke, I should have called first, but there really was no time...that is Star Shue and she really really really needs a place to stay..." Looking at Sommer he can't stand the fact that he has never been able to refuse whatever she's asked. Mostly because she hardly ever asks anything, and because she is also the only person who takes him the way he is. But the last time he did something for her was at prom, and he still remembers very well how that ended. "Okay," he nods at Sommer, "she can stay here."

"Wait what? It's that easy? You don't even want to know why she needs a place to stay and why she can't stay with me?" Thrown aback by Sommer's response Luke rubs his neck wondering if it had been wrong for him to respond the way he did. "Well, ehm yes, of course I want to know, but you also know I could have never refused anything you ask me." Sommer raised an eyebrow at her best friend, "yes I know, and look what I trouble I got you in last time I asked you something..." she scoffs, "you should think a bit longer before you respond to requests like this, it's not unrealistic that this might end with a blow in the stomach as well..."
Luke becomes confused with everything his best friend is saying, "what do you want Sommer, do you want me to take Star in or not?" Sommer sighs, "yes I do, her husband is abusing her, that's why she can't stay with me, he'd find her in a heartbeat, but nobody would guess she's staying here with you. If he does find out however, there is a real possibility that he comes over here and will start pummeling on you for hiding her." I'm not 16 anymore Sommer, I can defend myself and everybody else who needs defending." And with that he turns around to head back inside.

Sommer follows him back inside and under the watchful eye of Midnight, Luke introduces himself to Star, "Hi Star, I'm Luke and you can stay here, I'll protect you for as long as you need."
Sommer feels nearly embarrassed by what Luke is saying and is happy she explained to Star that Luke is not a regular guy. She can't help but be highly surprised when she notices Star trying to hold back a giggle. That women hasn't been giggling in years and within half an hour she has been nearly smiling twice already.

When Sommer hears Star mentioning something about her "knight in shining armor" and Luke responding with "well the horse is already outside" she can't help but smile at the look of the both of them having fun. Perhaps she did more this day then getting her friend out of an abusive relation, and though she knows there is still a very big skeleton in the closet, she is at least sure that Star is save here for now.

--------------------------------------------Notes----------------------------------------

@red, that creeper outside the window is actually family somehow...though I always forget in what way, but he carries the last name Crist...In this case, he is a papparazi and though my celebritysystem still isn't working properly, I do have him outside in my yard almost every single day, even though he never takes pictures on anything, he just stands there or walks around a bit.

So :D I rolled Equestrian and Expansionist, so I am going to be rebuilding some stuff soon as well :) well that is if they have the money.

Ryan and Maddie are okay, still alive and kicking (well fishing and filming), unlike Lee Xun (uncle Lee and Sommer's father...) and Derrick (booohooo!!).
Maddie has just achieved her lifetime wish (the one with the 13 perfect fish..), Ryan is still trying to make his way up the actor ladder to get his though I doubt he will make it cause he's exactly 90 days atm and has just been promoted to level 8 of his career :*(. I'm afraid I might loose him before he hits 10.

Next chapter is gonna be fun :D just so you all know :P

  3. So its official. Star is my favourite Hidden Springs character. I was going to use her in place of Ginger for Paris' lover but decided against going through the extra work of aging and cleaning her up. But she looks soooo lovely in your legacy <3. I hope Luke doesn't get hurt.

  4. I loved the chapter and I'm hoping that Luke & Star will get together (and someone beats up her abusive ex when he shows up - which I'm sure he will)
