3.20 It's Okay

"So all those photo's of Satya and your honeymoon? Did you put all of them away?" Madeline asks Ryan. She has been waiting all day for him to answer her question, but all he seemed willing to do was "make up for lost times", as he had put it when he explained why he had taken the day off. She could feel his muscles tightening when she said Satya's name and wonders why it is still a sore subject.

When Ryan looked away from her again, she decided to just give him some time to formulate what ever he has to say about the subject. Letting out a deep sigh, Ryan decides he can no longer run away from this subject, "Not all of them, I left the one in the living room, I've put a small one on her desk, and I have put the one where she reads to Rafe when he was Luke's age in Rafe's bedroom. Do you want me to take them down again?" Afraid of what he would find in her eyes, he stares in the distance while offering it. His arm still lays on her shoulder, but he has to fight the urge to take his distance for this subject.

Maddie pulled back a bit, "Look at me Ryan, why would I want you to take them down? Satya was my friend, I loved her. It's okay, I know you loved her, I do not deny that you have, nor do I want you to. " She could see Ryan was relieved by her answer, "I was actually thinking it was a pity that those photo's were now in boxes..."

"But what would you do with them...It does not feel good to keep them hanging in our bedroom. I still miss Satya at times, but it feels like I'm cheating on you if I keep them there." Madeline could not begin to describe the way she felt when he said it felt like cheating on her instead of on Satya. If he hadn't convinced her that he loved her already, this would be the thing that would have.

"I don't know what to do with them, perhaps we could expand the house a bit? Create a space to keep all those memorabilia's? I remember your mother talking about putting all those paintings of your dad somewhere as well." When she noticed Ryan was staring at her, a blush started to appear on her cheeks.

 "Hmm, you're brilliant Maddie," Ryan muttert as he brushed his lups against hers, "Do you know I love you?" Madeline giggles, "you've only said it like a gazillion times so far...I think you need to say it again."

"I love you Maddie, I love you, I love you, let's get married." Pushing his lips on her he holds her tight to prevent her from speaking. Madeline is not kissing him back, startled as she is by what he said, her first reaction is to push him away so she can look him in the eye. But Ryan is much stronger then she is, so finally she stops resisting his kiss and decides to respond by letting the kiss develop into something much more suitable to show him how she feels about that.

Inside Rafe is trying to get his homework done, but his grandfather pretending he can still eat is not helping much. Boy takes a long look at the heavily sighing kid and can't imagine what would be troubling him, "what's eating you kid?"

Trying to act as if he didn't care for the answer, Rafe kept his eye on his homework, "so...how come you pop up almost every night, while I never get to see my mom?" Boy pretends to choke on his diner. It is not that he didn't expect this question, he just didn't expect Rafe to take so long before asking.
"Well, your mother was sick, I'm sure you remember that, but she had an illness that nobody ever encountered. And well, this decease changed your mother. Truth be told, she became a very evil person. And because of that we decided to deny her access into the mortal world." Boy was looking at his grandson in expectation of some sort of fall out, after all, isn't it hard to accept that your mother has been denied to come and look you up?

Rafe looks at his grandfather and sees his expectations, so he pretends his father never explained this to him when he asked him why his mother never came, "ooooooh, so, ooooooh, okay, now I understand." Boy raises his eyebrows, "I hate to break it to you kid, but you didn't inherit your fathers flair for acting....so what's really eating you?"

Rafe rolls his eyes at his grandfathers ghost, he was sure this would distract his grandfather and made him feel guilty for whatever adults feel guilty for when you throw something like that at them. "I don't know if I want to tell you..." As to rescue him from his grandfather his phone starts to ring. Relieved he takes it from his pocket, only to see it is Sidney who is calling him, again...

Putting away his phone, ignoring it's constant ringing, he frantically starts to erase his homework. Boy taps his lips while pondering out loud, "so girl trouble it is!" Rafe casts him a look that would have killed him, if he hadn't already been dead. "Sidney is already seeing Emmet, yet she keeps calling and texting me after blowing me off yesterday when I tried to kiss her...she's driving me crazy!" And with nothing more to say on the matter, he takes his homework and leaves his grandfather to finish his fake-dinner.
