3.25 We make our own Fate

When Rafe walked in the room to proceed with the wedding of his parents, nobody noticed something strange at first. It was one of those moments where you can't explain how you knew, but you just knew. It didn't take long for everyone to "know" what was going on. Smiles were wiped from faces, disbelieve and shock replaced them as they all turned to face Danya.

Ryan felt he should have seen this coming, there hasn't been one single moment in his live that would just go right for him. Everything came with a downside, and the doubts started to grow on him. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be for him and Madeline to get married. There must have been a reason for them to keep putting it off all these years, and now that they would finally go through with it, this would happen. Seemed like an obvious sign to him.

Even though Danya watched her daughter in law and her husband pass away she was still surprised how quickly her body dissipated and left her soul behind.

As the Reaper approached her Danya got mad. "Of all the people in the world, you seriously lack timing! It couldn't have waited another hour or so? Until these two finally would have been married?? Don't you know what you have done??" The Reaper just stood there, looking at Danya as though she was an impatient child who would be okay after she was done ranting. The thought of this only made Danya more cross, "Are you aware that my overly dramatic son will see this as a sign? A sign that his wedding shouldn't continue? I have never ever been mad in my life! I was always the calm one, even when you came to collect my husband at such an unfortunate timing I did not get mad, and now you won't say a word?"
The Reaper remind silent, so did Danya, when he nodded she closed her eyes and with that, her soul dissipated as well.

With Danya gone, the Reaper stood there for a few seconds, then he turned his head towards Ryan and Maddie, "We make our own fate." And with that he left, leaving Danya's ashes in an urn behind.

Luke just stared at his parent's not sure what to say or what to do, he didn't even know why his grandmother was ranting at the Reaper. "So, does this mean the wedding is off? You guys are going to postpone it...?"

Rafe however does know what his grandmother was talking about, and he also thinks he knows what the Reaper meant. Wiping away his tears he looks at his father, "dad, I don't think you should postpone the wedding, you heard grandma, she wanted you guys to go through with it, and even the Reaper gave his consent...sort of."

"It doesn't feel right Ryan, to go through with it now..." Ryan caresses her cheek while wiping away some tears, "I know love, but don't you think Rafe is right? We both heard her, she was so happy that we were finally getting married, isn't that why we were stressing this whole day? Because she pushed us? Don't get me wrong, we needed that push..." Madeline sighed as another tear dropped from her eye on Ryan's thumb, "and now she won't be here anymore to push us again, okay, let's do this."

Even though everybody was still sad over what had happened, it was a happy occasion for them to finally get married. As Ryan put the ring over her finger, Madeline felt at peace and smiled, knowing that Danya would have been so happy to see them finally married.

As they both sealed their vows with a kiss, Rafe and Luke stood there with mixed feelings. They were happy that their parents were finally married, but they were sad that their grandmother, who had been such a big part of their upbringing was no longer there.

When they set down to eat the cake, Luke looked at Rafe, and when Rafe looked back, Luke knew that the house would soon feel even more empty then it did right now.

Rafe could barely hold back his tears, he knew how much this was going to hurt his little brother, but surely his parents would understand. He already made a down-payment on the apartment. He couldn't just stay here, he needed some space to get his own life started, but somehow he never pictured him doing this without his grandmother in the background.

Seriously, there was nothing to spoiler! I was working on the birthdays and wedding as I went, so the game was playing, I snapped a picture, put it in the blog and then I'd write something to go along with it, cause well, my buffer is completely depleted.....
And then Danya goes and does this!! I had just been messaging jessica about how she was already 111 days and that I didn't know what to do with her. I had already stopped her gardening because I didn't want her garden to still be there when she died, so I told Jessica that perhaps I should get her back to gardening. But if  I would she would probably die before the plants were full grown....apparently me discussing her death was enough.....and then the timing of course was absolutely wrong!! I am very glad though Ryan didn't blame me this time....:( Though I do feel guilty...

The most horrible thing about this was, that all of this happened as I was planning to quickly take a few pictures of their vows before I went to work...that's why I had to end it the way I did...I had to run for work. It drove me crazy!

So now the ironic part, today it's year ago that my own grandmother died...who has been playing a substantial part in my upbringing as well. She died 2 weeks after my son was born, and though she got to see him once, I never pictured her gone so quickly after his birth. So I kind of feel for Rafe and Luke.

Right off with the sad bad stuff....who noticed the gnome???

It appeared the very second the Reaper appeared and it was looking straight at the Reaper....

Only the reaper appeared on the wrong side of the wall.....

So he actually had to walk through the door to do his final animations with Danya :D. It made me giggle, I could nearly hear him sighing and muttering about stupid walls and transportation mistakes etc :D

The following should have been a note at the previous chapter, but well, I had to go so I'll do it now :P

no cookies for nobody :P nobody got the trait! But seriously cece, brat?? Luke is cute! He's no brat! And if he is :P it's the sabo side of him thats speaking up :D. So anyone care to take another guess??
