3.22 What Do Boys Want?

Though very unwelcome advise, Rafe couldn't stop thinking about what his grandmother said. Perhaps his grandparents were right. He hadn't spoken to Sidney since that day, and she did say she really liked him, so perhaps she actually did break up with Emmet to be with him. And the more he thought of it, the more he assumed it just had to be true. So he took his phone and called Sidney to ask her to meet him at the disco down town. In an effort to look as though he didn't care about them not talking those last few weeks, he pretended to brush off some dust while looking at her walk in.

"I'm so glad you called me," she flirted the moment she saw him, "I knew you'd stop being mad with me at some point." Rafe's heart jumped in his chest, he smiled back at her, "yeah, well, I thought we should talk."

Sidney looked at Rafe, smiling that sexy smile that makes his heart flutter. When she put her hand on his chest, he just knew for sure that she did dump Emmet for him, "so what did Emmet say when you broke it off with him?"

"Emmet?" Rafe could hear the answer in the way she mentioned his name, "you did not break up with him to be with me right? I can't believe you!" Rafe turned away from her, as he walked to the exit to go home, he heard her calling his name. On the way home his phone wouldn't stop ringing, so he turned it off. His grandparents were wrong.

Another week went by with Rafe continually ignoring his phone. Danya got so fed up with it, she called Sidney herself to ask her what was going on. The girl was a bit of a dimwit, and really didn't understand a single thing about boys, so Danya taught her a thing or two. When that was done, she invited the girl over without Rafe knowing. Rafe was not happy to see his grandmother letting Sidney in. He gave her a look to tell her to stay out of his life, but all Danya did was smile her "I know what's best for you smile".

With Luke in another one of his purple outfits doing his homework with Sommer Xun, she knew those two teens would have the time to work things out on their own. Even though Rafe tried to ignore Sidney at first, leaving her to wait for him in the hot-tub.

When it started to get dark outside, Rafe finally realized that it was no use trying to ignore the plans of two women. So he called Sidney over to talk things through. "I just don't get it Sidney, how can you flirt with me the way you do when you are dating Emmet?" Sidney sighed, looking down at her toes she actually felt embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I didn't really know what I was doing. I grew up with just my dad, and I always watched him flirting with all those women, I kind of thought it was the way to go with boys...until your grandmother called me and told me it wasn't..." Feeling his heart sink to the pit of his stomach he felt his hopes on her fly out the window, "right, so this means we can go back to being friends now? you'll stop flirting with me and you'll keep dating Emmet?" Rafe was just keeping up appearances, he couldn't really see them being just friends again after what she did to him, but perhaps she wouldn't notice how much he had wanted her to choose him.

"Well," Sidney started, "not really..." Rafe could not believe what he was hearing, "Not really? Not even friends?"

"No! Cause you see, when you grandmother told me I had to stop calling you and leave you alone, I realised I didn't want to miss you, only reason I dated Emmet was cause he asked me to you know...he was the first and well, I'm not dumb, I don't look that hot as all the other girls in school...So I thought i'd just...you know..."

"So does this mean you did break up with Emmet?" Rafe could not believe what he was hearing, when Sidney started to nod. "So, you'll be mine? And you won't flirt with other boys anymore?"

When she nodded again Rafe made another pass at her, which she didn't refuse this time.

Yeah, cece, yes, Sommer Xun is indeed Lee and Nadira's baby :) Rigth! So after days and days of having them flirt with each other, and yes she always accepted the flirting...I finally got the option to ask her to break up with Emmet...so bye bye Emmet!

I had more planned for this chapter, but it seems to fit better in the next chapter :)
