2.6 Life moves on

It took them quite some weeks before they were able to find a house that was suitable. They wanted their children to have everything they didn't when they were little. And they didn't want to have just one child, they wanted as many as were possible. Even adopt a few, to save them from the horrible lives the both of them had. So the house needed to have enough room for the to expand, and a large garden for them to play in.

"Don't worry little one, we'll take very good care of you, everything will be alright," Boy said to Danya's belly, which had been growing exponential. Danya knew she was going to pop any time soon now. She smiled, recognizing the underlying worries in Boy's words. They had talked a million of times about how they were both brought up, and they both worried the wouldn't be capable of giving the child what it needs. But she had faith, and she knew for sure they would never abuse or neglect them, so everything they did couldn't be worse than that, could it?

With everything unpacked and almost ready for the baby to come, Boy really needed to release his stress and worries, so he did that by doing the thing he does best since he was a child that nicked the money from his parents to get himself an easel.

While Boy was painting his emotions away, Danya decided to start her own garden at home. They discussed about bringing up the children, and they both decided they wanted to have one parent to always be there for them. Boy already had a job, Danya didn't, and because they would still need to get a decent income, they decided for Danya to stay at home. She actually was quite pleased about that, because she looked forward to spending most of her time with her children. But she also wanted to try and bring in some money as well, and what is a better way then by selling her home grown vegetables.

She remembered Boy telling her about all the time his father would spend in that garden of his, and back when they were still dating, she also remembers overhearing someone mentioning his price winning vegetables. So she decides to get ready for her garden by going over to Avian Crist's house, the one that Boy grew up in, and stole some of his price winning vegetables. She could appreciate the irony, that the vegetables Avian worked so hard on while neglecting his own son, would be the source of part of their income.

But while doing so, she suddenly felt her water break. No pains yet, so she finished what she was doing and then called Boy. Feeling rediculously calm, Danya was quite surprised to hear Boy freak out on the phone. "Your water broke?? But, no, that can't be! It's to early, we need a few more days to put the last details on the babys room! We're not done yet, are you sure you didn't just pee your pants?? And where are you anyways? Why the hell did you go out on a time like this!"
"Calm down Boy, seriously, it doesn't matter where I am now," knowing the current stress might get Buddy to show up (yes she knows, he told her, took some guts though), she didn't want to add to that, "and yes, I am sure I did not pee my pants. Do you know what hun, I love you, but your stress is freaking me out, how about I go to the hospital to deliver this baby, and you go and finish up the room for the little one."

When she hangs up the phone, she rushes to hospital, because she is starting to feel a bit uneasy. Not sure whether it's Boy to blame with his freaking out, or the fact that she is in labor, she is happy she made it to the hospital.

A few hours later Boy is relieved that the room is now finally finished! Nothing but the best for his child. Being relieved of the idea that his child is being born at this moment, Boy rushes of to the hospital.

Little does he know that at the same moment Danya is already on her way home, together with Derrick. She calls Boy to let him know their son is born, that everything went perfectly, and that she is on her way home.

Once at home she hands Derrick over to Boy who feeds him, snuggles him and puts his son to bed for the first time in his live.

When Derrick is asleep, he pulls Danya in his arms and while holding her tight he whispers: "I'm so sorry for freaking out like that, and I am sorry for not being there for you when you needed me."
Hearing the tears in his voice Danya tries to comfort him : "I know hun, it's okay, all went perfectly, and really, I wasn't in that much pain, you had your own ghosts to deal with, and I knew you could do that by finishing up the room. Don't worry, we'll be fine."

While letting go of her, he promises: "Next time I'll be there for you, I promise!" Danya smiles, she still wonders how it is possible for Boy to have become such a sweet and tender guy, with the upbringing he had. "I know, and how about we start working on the next time now??" She giggles as they both run of to the shower.

And while Boy and Danya hit the shower, Tiny sneaked into Derricks room and decided to sleep there. Someone should be there to protect him when something happens! And while trying to guard Derrick, Tiny is dreaming of the games he will be able to play with his new human when they both grow up.

The next morning, they are both knackered from taking care of Derrick all night. Being just born, he doesn't yet realize that the nights are for sleeping, so he was awake all night, and now, when the day came, he was fast asleep.
Boy realized that he had to go to work and started complaining to Danya: "It's just so unfair," he says," I think dads should have some time for the newborn baby as well! I think it's ridiculous I have to go to work while there is so much I can do around here to help you out with Derrick!"

Danya agrees with him, but when she mentions that he could ask for some time off, Boy responds with the fact that they need the money, but that if she wanted him to, he'd do so. Danya reassures him that she was just teasing him and knowing this will be the death stab for Boy's mood she whispers: "You do realize Christmas is coming up right?" When Boy stands up to grab her, she giggles and starts running away.

Boy came late for work that day...everybody thought it was because of the new baby, but Boy was smiling all day while thinking of why he was really late.
---------------------------------Notes----------------------------------------

I'm sorry for the short chapter, there wasn't really much to go by this time. Danya never showed being in labor at any time, only thing that gave me a heads up was the little pop-up saying she was having the baby just when she arrived on the lot. She really did finish harvesting those crops, and went to the hospital on her own. I don't know how you guys get the husbands to go there, but Boy didn't move a muscle, i tried to get him there on time, but he wasn't even half way there when Danya came out again.

And Tiny sleeping in Derricks room, it was so cute!! I'm thinking of putting his bed there when they both grow up :) I think i have to, cause I can't resist it when Tiny starts begging me:

And here's an overview of the house, the first floor is not furnished nor attached yet, but I have the ability to go up to the second floor as well, when I install the stairs that is :)

For people who want to know, the town I play in (and thus Boy's previous apartment that came with it as well) is Elmira City. Their new house is 117 Magnolia Street, which you can find when you scroll down on that page a bit. I did refurnish though. The big black emptiness on the left is garage :)

  1. Can't wait to see Derrick grown up! (love the name, by the way)

I really can't understand why Danya and Boy are as adorable as they are. <3 But every chapter makes me smile. Boy's freakout was hilarious.

In gen 7 of the Starr Legacy, Nero didn't go to the hospital with Ximena when she went into labour, but I just chalked it up to the fact that he was in the middle of his daycare job. I don't know why Boy never showed up for Derrick's birth though.

  2. I can't help you with why Boy didn't go to hospital as I always make my sims have home births

I thought it was adorable when Tiny slept in Derrick's room to guard him!

  3. The fathers always show up to the hospital for births in my game, even if they don't live on the lot. So I have no idea why Boy didn't show.

I love the nursery you made for Derrick.

And it was really perfect for Dayna to take the vegetables from Avian's garden to start hers.

  4. Yes, I love the idea of starting their money making produce with the fruits (and veggies) of the dead beat dad's labor! Would love to have seen his face when he saw all his harvest gone! Haha

    Yay, GEN 3!!!
