Generation 1 - Part 8: My name is .......

Watching Tiger getting all the attention, Buddy decides it is time for her to join he party. It doesn't make life that much easier for the boy though, because Buddy comes equipped with an ethical standard and tends to tell the boy how to get his parents attention. Studying their behavior as a doll all those years, has given him quite the opportunity to hit them where it hurts.

And thus life continues, eating whatever he can grab from the fridge (what? you didn't really thing they'd cook for him right?).

And watching his parents have attention for everything but him.

It seems like getting a scolding is the only attention he is capable of getting. And the more he starts to listen to Buddy, the more he thinks Buddy might be right.

So he sabotages the shower................

And the computer.............

And the sink...............

And the couch..........

And the shower again................

And after the unavoidable scolding, he'd run off to his garage to cuddle with Tiger.

Or to get whacked by Buddy.

It's on one of those occasions that Buddy tries to explain to the boy that if he wants something to change he needs to get out in the open. No more hiding on the cemetery, no more hiding away in his garage, he needs to get out there and meet people. Those people will surely notice that something is wrong, and perhaps they will help him out. If the boy wants something to change, he needs to make sure he gets some attention.....

And as it turned out..........getting attention is something he's perfected in the last few years.

Though sadly enough, the only attention he was good at getting.........was not the right sort of attention.

"He boy, what are you doing out here, all by yourself??"

"But.....i'm not here by myself! I've got Tiger with me, and Buddy!"

"Well, it looks to me like your all alone.......what is your name boy?? Then i can take you home."

"Uh.....m-m-m-m-my name??" the boy begins to stutter. It's not something he has ever given thought. He never even realized he didn't have a name, he is used to people (including his parents) referring to him with "the boy" or "the kid".

"Yes, your name,"the officer says. "But you already know it, you said it twice!" The boy knew this would confuse the officer, as the kid starts to run off, leaving the baffled officer behind, he looks back and shouts at him: "my name is Boy!!".

  3. Lol yes.........i could seriously not think of something else (how horrible) i think it's sort of what he is used to being called. So whats the use in changing it, at first i planned to make him a bookworm and let him pick a name from a hero or something like that........but he didn't turn out to be a book reader, i have never ever even seen him with a book! So i guess i adjusted :)
In the netherlands it is actually a name (just some extra information :D) though i can understand why it's a bit of a strange name in an english story haha.

  4. xD Poor Boy, what a depressing name. I really am curious as to how his life is going to turn out.

  5. I like the idea of him taking the name 'Boy' on the spot because it's what he's used to. It is a depressing name, but his story is fairly depressing.
As time goes on he could think about choosing a better name for himself. Given his upbringing, I could even see him taking on new names and new identities several times over the course of his life.

  6. Poor little Boy. :,(

I hope that as he grows, he begins to realize his self-worth!

  7. I think his name is actually quite creative. It suits him, imo. Still, I find his story so depressing, because it brings to mind all those kids out there who don't, in fact, get enough love or attention from their parents. Although, I'll admit, Boy's situation is a bit on the extreme side.

    Great job so far Klev!

  8. I think you're doing a great job with this. It's a sad and serious story, by nature, but Boy's relationship with Tiger and even Buddy show that he's at least normal and has a heart, which makes it a bit more lighthearted.
