2.11 A well deserved break

Boy and Serena never realized how busy things could get with that many children in the house. Though they hardly get around to maintaining their relationship, they enjoy the many discoveries in their children. They all have their own characters, and surprise them time and again. Lee, though not actually a child of theirs, turns out to be quiet and withdrawn. He is not a big fan of groups and often retreats in his room with a good book when is he done helping out with the toddlers.
Derrick helps out as well, it seems it's the one thing all their children do, care for each other and help. But Derrick doesn't retreat after that, instead, he invites over girls. Not a strange occurring for a teenage boy, but Danya and Boy never seen him make any romantic moves towards any of them. It is not worrying them, whatever their children turn out like, they love them deeply.

Ryan is again someone entirely different. Whenever he gets the change he'll jump upon his chair and engages in some fantasy play of his. Boy think's he's rather good at it. Whatever Ryan does, he does it as though he is a little star. Ryan brings home Angel a lot though, Boy and Danya do find it awkward to see the little girl that Derrick befriended come home with another one of their sons. Doesn't she ever age up?

At some point, Lee confronts his brother-in-law, "Boy? I've noticed you and Danya haven't been able to spend time together," looking at Boy putting on his "this-is-going-to-be-a-serious-matter" face he scoffs, "and though it is technically all your own fault, with wanting this many children, Derrick and I decided we'd forgive you for Xander, after all, you can't plan a twin can you?." Boy is not sure how to respond to this, "our own fault huh?" he says wile raising his eyebrows at the kid, "why don't you just get to the point you are trying to make?" "Well, Derrick and I have been saving up some money, and we want for you both to use and get some time off from all of this." Boy looks puzzled, not sure he get's what Lee is saying, "gosh Boy, do I really have to spell it out? Derrick and I have booked a vacation for the two of you!"

Boy is positively shocked by this offer, but hesitates, "Lee, I'm not sure...we are hardly able to manage with your help, how would you be doing this alone, even though it is just for a few nights?" Lee recaps "Derrick has promised to help as well, the toddlers will be the most work, and Sirra is going to be a child tomorrow, Ryan is no trouble at all, we'll just read him a book and let him play out the story, and if we don't manage, we can always ask one or more of those lady friends Derrick brings home to help out."
"I see you both have discussed this thoroughly already?" Lee nods, he knew Boy would bring up that excuse to not go, his sister and her husband are both very reluctant to leave their children in the care of someone else. Lee can only remember one time that there has been a babysitter, and that was when Danya and Boy went to the hospital to gave birth to Ryan. After that, they have never hired one again. "What about Sirra's birthday? We do not want to her to miss out on anything, I don't want her to feel not loved by us? We can't just leave and not be there for her.."
Lee tries to find the right words to comfort Boy without making him feel not needed, cause well, really, they have all been taking care for Sirra her entire life, she won't care if Boy and Danya are at her birthday or not. "I don't think Sirra will mind that much, she'll be surrounded with most of the people she loves, and we'll make it a smashing birthday, when she's a child we will be able to explain to her why you two weren't there. And we can always hold a party when you two return."

When Boy realizes all the excuses he could think of, have been put aside, he starts to like the idea of going away, alone with Danya, he asks "when do we leave?" "Ehm...well, now, I guess, when you've packed, the plane leaves in three hours".

With Danya already in the cab, Boy takes one last look at their house, as though he wants to remember it the way it is now, not sure what he will find when he gets home again. But then he straightens his back, saying to himself that they have raised their children to be responsible, and gets in the cab to enjoy his vacation.
And while Lee goes to school, Derricks skips school the first day. While the toddlers are in bed, Derrick calls everybody to make sure the birthday party for Sirra won't be dull. He and Lee have discussed this and decided it's what their parents wanted right? They would want to have lots of people over for their daughters birthday.

And while the teens at the party don't really care for the birthday, they do get Sirra a cake.

And Sirra loves it!

Aged up into a beautiful young lady, she is just happy she'll be able to eat her cake this time!

Derrick tries to tell the other teens a ghost story, but they are not really in the mood for it. And while they went to eat some cake, someone else showed up to the party.

Someone they did not invite to their party. And though Vance McCoy hates breaking up those parties, everybody knows he had hosted more then enough of them when he was a teenager, he has to inform the boys parents about this. Though when he arrived, he was a bit puzzled as to what neighbors called this in, because this lot is practically secluded in the middle of all those business properties.

Both Derrick and Lee get a proper scolding and are being grounded. "I thought we could trust you with this Lee, you promised! You have no idea how disappointed I am right now."
Lee feels very bad, he knows he deserved a scolding, he hopes he will be able to make things right with Boy again though. He didn't realize what it meant for their parents to throw that party. Both he and Derrick weren't thinking straight. So both Lee and Derrick apologize and while their grounded they help out around the house, doing chores, cooking diner for Boy and Danya, hoping to atone for their actions.

The upside of the episode is, seeing her elder brothers help out around the house that much, makes Sirra want to help out as well "But when you have to get to bed Axel, you'd better go and find someone else..."

--------------------------------------Notes------------------------------------------

I felt so bad when Lee and Derrick got scolded by Boy, and yes, they actually did get scolded and grounded both!

I am not sure where that cop came from tbh, I never noticed a pop-up saying someone called the cops, he just showed up :S maybe one of the other teenagers decided it was time to break up the party and called it in :P

  1. Yeah, the cop breaking up teen parties when the adults take the 'free vacation' is standard. It doesn't matter if your house in the middle of nowhere or if the 'party' is just one guest reading a book, it's a Generations feature to have a cop come ruin it, just like the autonomous scolding that coms after it is a feature.
    It sucks.

  2. Thats why I tend to not throw teen parties, and just throw regular parties while the parents are in the basement >_>.

*Sigh* The hotness level in your story still makes me jealous. And Sirra is so adorable as a child.

  4. I've never had the cops come and break up a party... maybe I'm just super lucky? I've only thrown two of them though.

Anywho, The kids are all so gorgeous! I can't wait to see them all grown up :)
