3.1 Can I Stay?

Though it took some time for Danya to get used to being a grandma, she loves her granddaughter and starts to wish she'd get more grandchildren. Derrick and Angel don't seem to have any rush though, and even though they are engaged, they don't seem to get married either. Sabrina has already become a child and Danya starts to worry if Sabrina's conception might have rushed Derrick and Angel into doing something they now regret. So they offered to give the two of them some time together, they invited Sabrina to a sleep over with her grandparents, and gave Derrick and Angel a trip to France.

But during one of their many visits at the Crist home, the couple brings along some happy news. "We are expecting a little brother or sister for Sabrina! We found out when we were in France!" Angel is proud to announce, and Derrick adds to this by saying "yes, and ehm, we also got married while we were in France, we are sorry we didn't invite you guys over, but we didn't want to have this baby outside of our marriage either. And now we had the time to do it."
Danya smiles, "I feel sad that we didn't get to be at your wedding, but I am very very happy you guys got married and that you are expecting another baby! I was already wondering if something was wrong..." she tries to find out subtle why they waited so long. Derrick and Angel glance at each other before Angel decides to explain, "We weren't exactly waiting, the marriage, well, it just kept being pushed forward, it would have taken a lot of time to arrange the party and the wedding, and we just weren't up to that sort of fuzz, but we didn't want to dissappoint you all either. We were also trying to get pregnant again.....and well, it seemed as though Sabrina was kind of a lucky shot, we were very dissapointed every time it turned out I was not pregnant. So well..." Derrick finishes her sentence for her "we were not really in the mood for having a party either...But! when we found out she was pregnant, we didn't want to wait another day!"

"Well you sure kept your parents waiting little one!" Danya purrs at Angels belly, excited to get a second grand child. A few months later Derrick and Angel get a baby boy named Darrel.

Angel is not yet fully recovered when it is time for Ryan's birthday, Ryan is very excited to become an adult. There are a lot of family and highschool friends present.

When the sparkles fade away, and it becomes clear how Ryan looks as an adult, the look on Boy's face starts to change from joy to disbelieve in a split second.

Boy never realized it would be possible that his own children would resemble his father this much. Lee spots the resemblance to the man in the painting that has been hanging in his sister bedroom for as long as he can remember immediately.

Boy is not sure what to think of this, realizing Ryan is his son though, and in character nothing like his father, he decides there is nothing he can do about this, and continues with the party.

Right after Ryan has become an adult, it's Danya's turn. She feels excited, she knows Boy had been troubled by his age, but now he can see he won't be the only elder one in the house. Knowing it is inevitable she blows out the candles.

Danya is quite content to see she is still there, and not half as wrinkly as she expected to be. Sabrina is just happy to see her grandmother finally look like a grandmother, it was quite annoying when people asked her if Danya was her mother.

When everybody goes to grab some cake, Derrick and Ryan check out the crowd. Derrick has got a feeling of what his little brother is checking the crowd for. Amused by the fact that Ryan hasn't changed a thing he is curious as to what everybody will do.

Under the watchful eye of his brother, Ryan commences his act for the first time in front a big crowd, instead of just for the family.

Knowing this is going to hurt, Derrick looks away, and with Satya focussing on the cake, Ryan finally gets to pull of his act without her interrupting him. Sirra notices his brother and can't help herself and walks over to him.

With everybody finally noticing Ryan passed out on the floor, she starts to clap enthusiastically and thus spoiling his act, "yes Ryan! You finally managed to perfect it! I bet now you can make it as actor! Well done!!" Ryan gets up again, annoyed, "what is it with this family, how come nobody ever reacts the way they should when they see a family member pass out". Satya takes him by the hand while saying, "perhaps they would, if you wouldn't be faking it all the time..." And again she turns around to walk away with Sirra, leaving Ryan just standing there.

When he catches up with Satya and starts talking to her, he can't help himself but check to see how Derrick is responding to his girlfriend. Derrick hasn't seen her yet, and though he might be living on his own now, Ryan still feels he needs to know what Derrick is thinking. Derrick sticks up his thumb and nods "well done, she's HOT" he mimes at Ryan. With a big smile Ryan turns at Satya again, "what are you grinning about?" she asks him, "nothing, nothing...it's just that, you know,  I feel very lucky to have you, do you know that?" Ryan says, putting his newly found hopelessly romantic side to work, "I love you".

"I love you to, big fool! So...what are you going to do now that you are an adult? Are you going to move out?" "I don't know, to be honest, I haven't even thought about it," Ryan scratches his head, "I was planning to go and participate in some auditions, i'm not sure if I can afford a place of my own yet. I feel like acting is the place to be for me, but it sure won't give me a lot of money to start of with."
"Well, I'm aging up in a few days as well, and I would love to have some kind of a future with you, try to figure out what you want, I do not have much plans for the future, I would love to be able to work out some stories I have had in my mind for quite some time now. Perhaps I can bring in some money for the both of us like that, thought it's an insecure business as well" Satya explains. "Don't worry about it, I'll think of something!"

Later that evening, when almost all the guests have left, Danya and Boy sit at the table eating some left over cake. "It's good to see those builders finished digging the new pool before Ryan's birthday, " Danya mentions with her mouth full, "when are we going to tell him?"
Boy stuffs his mouth with cake before motioning his wife to sit on the chair besides him, "I've got a feeling we don't have to wait long before we get to tell him..."

Ryan grabs a slice of cake and sits down "that was quite a party wasn't it?" he begins the conversation. When both his parents nod while nibbling away at their cakes he brings up the subject that has been bothering him ever since Satya brought it up. "Ehm, with me being an adult and all, I guess I should be moving out right?" both his parents keep looking at their plates and take another bite of cake without saying anything, "but ehm," he continues, "I'm ehm, are you listening to me?" Danya and Boy look up at Ryan with their mouths filled with cake and nod, again, not saying a word. "Righto...well as I was saying...how much time do I have before you guys kick me out?"

"Well, it all depends a bit on when you feel you're ready to leave your teddybear behind" Boy can barely hold his laughter when Danya says that.

Ryan is so stressed out about the subject, he doesn't even notice his parents are making fun of him. "Because well, you see, I want to be an actor, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to punch in enough time to be able to afford my own place right away..." While finishing their cake, Boy and Danya look at each other smiling and know they should put the poor boy out of his misery.

Danya heads off to bed, trusting Boy to finish this conversation without her, "son? You know the basement we've been building? And the swimming pool?" Ryan looks up to his father, "yes, you and mum said it was because you wanted to create a space to store some items, and the pool was so you and mum could keep exercising without getting arthritis or something now that you are old..." "well, yes, or something, anyways, those were all some bullshit excuses, have you been in the basement yet?" "No, you guys told us not to.." Boy scoffs, "as if you always listen to what we say, well, we've got a surprise for you, let's go downstairs."

"So, what do you think son?" Boy asks while scanning the room. "Wow, this is cool! It looks awesome, but I don't understand..." "Well, if you wan't, it's yours" Boy says it in a nonchalant tone, but is worried, Derrick leaving the house hit him pretty hard, he never thought about his kids leaving the nest, and well frankly, he was worried he and Danya would be all alone and not able to take care of themselves when theu would get older and older. They both thought it would be a good idea if one of the children decided to stay with them. And from all of their children, Ryan seemed to be the one to be most likely to either need it, or want it. They noticed Ryan wasn't completely happy when Derrick left the house, they figured he might be lonely if he'd ever go and live on his own.

"Say what? Mine?" Ryan stammers "what do you mean, mine?"

"Let me spell it out for you Ryan, your mum and I would love it if you decided to stay with us, we decorated this room to hopefully fit your dramatic tastes and give you some privacy. If you want, you can even have your ladyfriend move in with you when she becomes an adult as well" worried his son might say no he rushes  to the windows in the basement.

"We placed the pool so you could keep up your sporting, put the exercise stuff in your room and of course, with the pool placed their you and Satya will never feel like you're below ground..." His voice trembles as he lets the silence fall, not sure how to continue. Ryan looks at his dad and can tell how much this means to him, he pulls him in a hug "dad, you and mum are the best! I'd love to stay, and I don't think Satya would mind living here either."

----------------------------------------------Notes--------------------------------------

and so gen 3 begins :) the rolls for gen 3 are:

    Marital Structure: Second Chance
    Number of Children: Two Children
    Heir: Child #2
Primary Income: Ambitions Job: Movies (Film Star)
    Secondary Income: Non-Standard Career: Author
    Secondary Income: Non-Standard Career: Adventurer
    Generation Goal: Deadbeat Parents
    Misc Fun: Half-Siblings
As most of you probably know, I rerolled the deadbeat parents. I do not feel like doing another gen with that at all, at least not now, there is no way I can justify Ryan to neglect his kids without Boy intervening with the upbringing he had. And I really wanted to keep him living with Boy and Danya. So I re rolled it to Perfectionist :) which in Ryan's case is going to be his athletic skill :) because well, I thought it would fit his career, as in, all actors have to look hot before they can make it right??
Half siblings should be easy...I'm not sure I'm going to stick with the heir I rolled for this time, but since it's optional, I'll just wait and see how the children turn out.

The party....not sure if you noticed, but Derrick and Lee were glitched....after Danya aged, all they did was just standing there, eventually I had to reset both of them to make them leave...oh and I just love the fact that Ryan can fake passing out :D.

I had fun with restyling Ryan, just for the fun of it.

Nopes, it's not derrick, it's Ryan, I never realized how much those two looked like each other, I always thought they looked completely diff until Cece started to use them as twins in her story :).

Also, for who doesn't want to go all the way back to check out how the hell Avian looked like.
Above is Ryan, and below is Avian, his grandfather.

When I styled Ryan like that, I didn't intend to make him the same as Avian, but when I saw him like that I noticed how much they were alike :) and I just like that, it's going to come back in the story, probably next chapter......or not :P

As I think I've explained before, I don't think I ever played the sims for more then 2 generations, so I really enjoy to see how the genetics work for a change :) if I'm boring everybody with it :P well then bad luck for you :D hihi.

EDIT: I forgot to look back at the previous gen :) Well, the mixed couple was met (Lee and Sirra adopted, Derrick, Ryan, Axel and Xander biological), 5 children was met (last pregnancy being twins...so adds up to 6 :S). The careers, Boy is currently a CEO in the bussiness career, I want him to reach level 10, so he won't be retiring till he gets there. Danya is farming more or less, though I have only been doing it for the money, so all she has is a bunch of perfect apple trees of which she sells the produce.
Born with it, no matter what, I've kept Boy the way he turned out, was hard though! The hideous clothing! Horrible! And misc fun was social bunny, Boy had some dates and outings at first, but atm he's been getting so many invitations over at party's, I hope those count as well :) cause I've been considering those a social outing as well ;). So I consider that met as well :). So gen 2 is now officially over!

  1. Avian was an ass, but he was good looking. So it's nice to see his looks come back in Ryan.
    His basement apartment looks awesome.

  2. xD Ryan's dramaticness makes me lol so hard sometimes. I really do love him. Derrick will always hold a special place in my heart, but hot DAMN Ryan makes one sexy YA. I'm a lil jealous of Satya right now...

I agree that Ryan and Avian look a lot alike, but Ryan's eyes have a bit more innocence in them. I <3 him.

Can't wait to read what you've got planned for Gen 3! (And congrats!)

  3. Ryan does look very much like his grandfather! He is funny with his fake passing out & I loved the whole discussion between him and Boy when Boy showed him the basement, it was so cute how long it took him to click and how worried Boy was
